The highest located German ski resort. The lower parts of the slopes (Garmisch Classics) are located closer to the town of Garmisch Partenkirchen and located at an altitude of 700-2000 m a.s.l. On the slopes of the Zugspitze at 2,700 m a.s.l., there is Germany's only glacial ski area with 20 km of natural snow slopes. Access to the glacier requires an additional ski pass option. The entire resort, including Garmisch Classics, consists of over 40 km of pistes of various difficulty levels. From 2017, we will access the Zugspitze by a modern aerial tramway with a record-long freespan (3,213 m) and the highest supporting tower (127 m). The nearest airports are located in Innsbruck and Munich.
