Val d'Isère and Tignes are among the most important French ski resorts. Together, they form an area formerly known as Espace Killy, in honor of the famous skier Jean-Claude Killy born here. The area is located in south-eastern France right on the border with Italy. The resort offers approx. 300 km of slopes of all difficulty levels. Thanks to altitudes exceeding 3000 m a.s.l., the season here starts in October and ends in May. The nearest airports are located in Grenoble and Turin.
