Abondance (930 m a.s.l.) and the neighbouring La Chapelle d'Abondance (1020 m a.s.l.), is a perfect area for beginners. Here the vast majority of pistes are green and blue runs. For more advanced skiers, it can be a good base for more difficult areas of Les Portes du Soleil. Abondance is not physically connected to the rest of the Portes du Soleil resorts, but a shared ski pass is respected here. Access to the rest of the slopes is only possible in nearby La Chapelle d'Abondance.

More than freeride. Heliskiing!
Freeride? Sure. But what if one was to trade a mundane gondola for... a helicopter?
