Mayrhofen is one of the most popular destinations in the Ziller Valley. It lies where the Zillertal divides into four smaller valleys: Zillergrund, Stilluppgrund, Floitengrund and Zemmgrund. The Mayrhofen resort offers over 135 km of ski runs of all levels of difficulty, including the steepest ski run in Austria called Harakiri. The resort offers more than 50 modern cable cars and lifts at the disposal of skiers, and Penken can be accessed by the modern 3-S cable car. The highest point of the resort is Rastkogel (2,500 m a.s.l.). Mayrhofen has its own separate ski pass, but is also included in the Zillertaler Superskipass ski pass system.
