Austrian Ischgl forms the greater part of the Swiss-Austrian complex known as the Silvretta Arena. The town itself is situated in the Paznaun Valley in Tirol, amidst alpine three-thousanders - between the Silvretta and Ferwall mountain ranges. The length of the ski runs is estimated at around 230 kilometers, including the neighboring Swiss resort of Samnaun. Both are connected by a single pass system and are characterized by runs for more demanding skiers. Due to multi-million investments in tourist infrastructure and the development of the region, Ischgl is today considered one of the most exclusive and modern ski resorts in the Alps.
